  • Description
A set of support services has been created to support the implementation and application of the EU Waste Shipment Regulation at Member States' level. The services include three tools: a Forum, a Helpdesk and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

The Forum below aims to enable national authorities to rapidly exchange information/best practices and discuss questions concerning the day-to-day application of the Regulation, including also matters pertaining to the prevention of illegal shipments of waste. A restricted part is accessible to Member States' authorities only and a general one is also open to other stakeholders (e.g. environmental groups, academic researchers, the general public, etc.). Both forums require registration for posting a message. Once you register, you will receive a validation email confirming your email address. After registration, Member States' authorities can request access permission to the restricted forum by sending an email. The Helpdesk team will intervene in the Forum as a moderator and provide clarifications and answers, in case no answer at all has been posted by other users, or in case the replies are contradictory to the Helpdesk team’s understanding of the Waste Shipment Regulation.

A Helpdesk was created to handle enquiries regarding the Waste Shipment Regulation. Some more complex enquiries will be answered on behalf of the Helpdesk team and brought up for discussion in the Forum. We welcome enquiries, comments and input in English through the following channels:

Private message: submission of a message to the Helpdesk by clicking here (after registration and subsequent validation of your email address)
    Telephone: +33 1 53 90 11 75
Letter: Waste Shipment Regulation Implementation Helpdesk - c/o BIO Intelligence Service - 20-22 Villa Deshayes - 75014 Paris, France

Users expecting an answer from the Helpdesk are advised to directly address their question to the Helpdesk through one of the channels described above, rather than posting it on the Forum.

The Helpdesk is operated by the consortium ETAGIW (BIO Intelligence Service, BiPRO GmbH Munich).

The discussion in the Forum as well as the input from the Helpdesk will provide the basis for further elaboration of the Commission services' FAQ section on waste shipments.

Please note that IMPEL, the European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law, also provides on its website a discussion and information forum for exchange on enforcement practice for transfrontier shipment of waste. Access to the forum ("basecamp") is given on recommendation of IMPEL National Coordinators, IMPEL TFS National Contact Points or project managers and is restricted to competent authorities involved in control and enforcement of transboundary shipments of waste.
